It was such an amazing experience, one I will never forget! I wish I had my USB cable for my camera, but I don't so you will have to wait for another two weeks before you can see pictures. I went to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary here at the Gold Coast, Australia and had the time of my life! The first thing I did was cuddle with a koala and took many pictures. When the lady put the Pearl, the koala, in my hands it slowly put it's hands and head on me and cuddled right up. I'm pretty sure I wanted to steal Pearl and make her my new best friend! Another thing I immediately wanted to do was see kangaroos. I don't know why but for the longest time seeing a real life kangaroo has been a dream of mine. I was fully expecting to see the kangaroo behind glass or behind bars but that was NOT the case. I walked through two gates and BAM I was in kangaroo city! They were everywhere and there were lots! No bars, no glass, just open space for people and roos to muck about. I purchased food to feed the kangaroos and they literally ate out of my hands. I got to pet them and play with them for hours. What else could I ask for right? I also saw a momma roo with a little Joey in her pouch. This was truly a unique experience for me, and I finally fulfilled my dream of seeing the native animals from Down Under! I wish I could have smuggled some home, but I'm sure the law wouldn't be to keen about it :) Anyone who has the opportunity to come to Australia should be sure to visit the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Trust me, it will be worth your while!Jenelle Killpackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13062981380211341290noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1329298189087839053.post-26671451874514712452010-02-10T01:30:00.000-08:002010-02-10T01:52:58.700-08:00Australia + Beach + Rainforest = very satisfying day!
I went to this beach today in Gold Coast, Australia and I wish there was a beach smack dab in the middle of Orem, because I would be going there everyday! Utah would be that much better if only there were beaches. I've never felt sand so soft in my entire life than the beaches here in Aussie! I was walking on sea shells in the ocean and noticed a soft clicking sound beneath my feel. It was the sea shells hitting together as the waves went back in to the sea. It made me realize how beautiful God created this earth and how lucky I am to be in such a pretty environment. I am very jealous of the people who get to experience this whenever they want!

There's nothing like a refreshing jump in a fresh water pool surrounded by rain forest. Yup, went to the rain forest after the beach and jumped into a cool, refreshing pool and let me tell you it was AMAZING! Blue/green water surrounded by lush green trees and plants. Can't get much better that this! Or can it...?? :) You will have to see when I report back after the next fun-filled adventure.Jenelle Killpackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13062981380211341290noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1329298189087839053.post-71641581144647812312010-02-05T14:02:00.000-08:002010-02-10T02:02:28.225-08:00MmMmMmMmmm...Milo, Tim Tams, and Pineapple Lumps

I am convinced that Milo is the best drink in the world! I never thought I'd be the one to have a blog, but experiencing an adventure in New Zealand seemed like the perfect place to start one. It has been a battle getting me well and on a plane, but I am happy to be here. The agenda for the next week and a half will consist of camping with the Reid's (the wonderful family I am staying with) for 4 days, then immediately leaving with Jordan (youngest boy of the Reid family) to go on a kayak trip with the priests. I'm quite excited but extremely home sick for my family and Jess! But as they say in New Zealand, "No worries mate" I'll pull through. As for now, this is Jenelle Killpack signing off her very first post. Over and out!
Jenelle Killpackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13062981380211341290noreply@blogger.com0
